5/5 stars Beautiful Story; Couldn’t put it down!
“I loved the mystery and intense high stakes of the family drama battling against high society. Rebecca and Albert were lovable and relatable characters, and I was drawn to them and enjoyed watching how they handled each intense situation, both with their family’s reputation and financial state at risk. There were a lot of surprises and unexpected turns, and it was fascinating discovering new truths of Rebecca’s family’s past throughout the whole story. I especially loved how effortlessly and plainly the Gospel message of God’s love and grace was presented and how it completely changed Rebecca’s perspective on forgiveness despite so much pain she had experienced.
This was well-written, and it held me on the edge of my seat the whole way through."

5/5 stars Great clean romance
I enjoyed the drama and fight against the Society of the early 1900's. Rebecca's pathway to a relationship with God was revealing.

5/5 stars A lovely read
Given that the main characters were already wholly in love at the start of the book, I was originally uncertain about how this could be much of a romance. But it managed to be moving and delightful through the end.
Both Anne and Henry went through deeply personal journeys to “become” who they were, and only then did they deserve their happy ending. Despite the title, I actually identified with Henry more throughout the book. But both characters were sympathetic.
The author creates memorable characters reminiscent of the assortment of people in L.M. Montgomery’s Anne of Green Gables series. The Canadian setting also felt refreshing to me, as I am usually a British Regency reader.
The book does have strong religious themes near the end, which may or may not be some people’s preference. But it is altogether a pleasant and lovely read.

5/5 stars Outstanding Christian historical romance
Wow. Wow. Wow!
I couldn’t put this down. Anne and Henry are flawed and wonderful and you can’t help but root for them. The story is expertly woven together with romance, drama, historical context, faith, and absolutely brimming with emotion and heart.
I loved how it tied in with book 1 in the series, giving so much more depth to the characters you met briefly in that story.
Miss Blenheim did remarkably well on her debut… but this was even more than I imagined for a sequel. So so good and I’ll reread it more than once.
If you love historical Christian fiction with a thread of romance - you have to read this. You won’t be disappointed.
